Daft Punk digipak
Here is a digipak that Daft Punk have made for their album "Human After All." Daft Punk is a well know Electronic duo consisting of French musicians Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter. They make sci-fi/science sounding music which is clearly portrayed in the digipak as it looks like a space station with the black background and the coloured images that are in the style of technological drawings.
Featured on this Digipak is information on the bands tour dates. This is unusual to see but is also a good way of marketing them as anyone who picks up the album to look at it or buys it will see them and will be aware that they can see the band live.
The CD colour is bold and makes it stand out against the black background. It is a simple bloc colour CD which is something you don't see from many artists nowadays. The use of the purple and yellow really makes the digipak stand out as a whole and makes it look intriguing.
The typography is in a font that links to the space station feel of the digipak. The artist name is larger than the album title which is unusual as normally it is the other way around. They have the track list and, like I said before, tour dates. I have learnt that bands usually link their digipaks to their genre. In this case, Daft Punk have made their digipak follow a sci-fi theme which links to their electronic, sci-fi music. The link means audiences will be able to tell it is Daft Punk. Having tour dates on a digipak will mean that the audience can see when the group is on tour, it is a good way to connect with their audience. I will apply the bold use of colour and the well spaced out layout of the digipak to my own.
